As the ancients already seemed to know, everything in the universe is in a state of vibration. Resonance is the frequency at which an object vibrates more naturally. As Jonathan Goldman describes in his book Sounds that heal, “through resonance it is possible for the vibrations of one body to reach another and set it in motion. This can be easily observed, for example, when a singer breaks a cup with his voice. What happens is that the voice of the singer can equal the resonance frequency of the crystal, thus causing its vibration.
The principle of resonance operates constantly in nature so that the most powerful vibrations “infect” by resonance the vibration of objects or close beings.
How the wind is able to knock down a solid stone bridge? Why do sea waves close to each other tend to come together and form one or two wall clocks whose pendulums oscillate at different rates end up synchronizing their movement when placed side by side?
All these events are based on the principle of resonance
In fact every cell and every organ of the body is continuously vibrating at a certain frequency. When an organ is healthy, its vibrational frequency is in harmony with the rest of the body. When this frequency is altered, this harmony is broken and, as the problem is somatized, what we know as illness appears. By the principle of resonance it is possible to modify these altered frequencies through the transmission of other frequencies. This is what makes sound a therapeutic process capable of opening the door to physical, emotional, mental and spiritual balance.
